Shakey Acres Stud Service Policy

Health:

Our herd is Scrapie Free. Each year our herd is tested for CAE, CL and Johnes, and has been found free of these diseases. We also perform scheduled worming with Ivomec and maintain updates on CD/T and 3 Way vaccinations. In addition, we dust in the fall and as needed for lice.

Therefore, all does coming to Shakey Acres for stud service must meet this same standard. Does must be in good health (no cough, runny nose, fever, etc.) Doe owner must provide blood tests for CAE, CL and Johnes that are no more that 12 months old. Shots and worming must be up to date; doe must be lice free and have a Scrapie tag.

Uterine infections are somewhat common in does and can prevent pregnancy. Please inspect your doe and if she is having any sort of discharge, take her to your vet for treatment before attempting to have her bred.

Current Pricing:

Silky Stud: $200

Myotonic Stud: $100

Fees are due when the doe is picked up after breeding. We will keep the doe through two "heat cycles" to insure breeding. If for some reason the doe does not take (no kids in the spring) Shakey Acres will refund the stud fee minus $50.00 (to offset the cost of care and feed while in our possession).

Care:

While at Shakey Acres, your doe will be treated as though she were one of our own.

In the event that for any reason your doe requires veterinary care while at Shakey Acres, such care shall be at the owners expense or the owner may choose to take the doe to their own vet.

In the unlikely event that your doe becomes ill, is injured or dies while in our care, Shakey Acres will be held harmless unless it can be shown that we were negligent in the care of your doe. In that event Shakey Acres liability shall be limited to: to reimbursement of the full purchase price of doe, or current average market value of the doe if the doe was kidded by the owner.
